SOME PROJECTS

The Foundation to date has made numerous and diverse grants and awards ....

  • to assist in the publication of a number of major numismatic books which might not otherwise have been published because of the costs involved;
  • to assist authors in conducting research;
  • to assist in publication costs of journals of specialized numismatic organizations of national significance;
  • endow four graduate-level scholarships at Canadian universities in the name of the Rev. Dr. Bernard J. O'Connor.
CURRENT PROJECTS OF THE FOUNDATION

The Rev. Dr. Bernard O'Connor Scholarship

The J. Douglas Ferguson Foundation is offering Rev. Dr. O’Connor Scholarships to numismatic students, advanced collectors, university students and educators wishing to pursue post-graduate studies in Canadian numismatics, banking history, economics, currency development and related studies. This project was successfully launched in 2012 and is now active at four Canadian universities.


The Holey Dollars and Dumps of Prince Edward Island

This work has now been published and was launched at The Toronto Coin Expo on September 28-29, 2012 at the Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street, Toronto, with author Christopher Faulkner present for autographing. Details about the book may be found here.
